“The most sustainable fashion week in the world”
At Paris Fashion Week, Balenciaga’s Nicolas Ghesquiere told Women’s Wear Daily that his runway isn’t so much a forum for pandering to rich women, but a platform for advancing a thought or two.
Portland Fashion Week is all about advancing thoughts, too — Italy’s Book Moda calls Portland’s FW “most sustainable fashion week in the whole of the United States, if not in the entire world.” People-friendly manufacturing, renewable resources, toxin-free materials – industry leading, oui? Oui? And because that magazine quote was translated from Italian, it’s now 50 percent more credible!
Running Oct. 19-24, Portland’s FW will feature “a selection of eco-designers, as well as using an earthfriendly catwalk, eco-friendly styling products on models and sustainable hotels for the guests.”Expect to hear much more from me on this list of designers — talk about a content heyday…
