I admit it — I fall in love easily. Every new socially-aware business model I come across is the “best” I’ve ever seen. But that’s because there are so many fantastic ones out there!

Like PeaceKeeper Cause-Metics. It blows me away. For starters, its products are made under fair labor conditions (as monitored by Ceres) with fair pay, aren’t tested on animals and are made from all-natural ingredients. The products as a whole have been rated one of the safest cosmetic lines on the market.

And the good part is yet to come. PeaceKeeper is the first cosmetics line to give all its after-tax distributable profits to women’s health advocacy and urgent human rights issues! This includes domestic violence and battery, the sex slave trade, gender inequality, rape and infanticide. In addition, one half of one percent of its gross revenues each year go to charity, and it makes micro-loans to women in need.

PeaceKeeper makes lipsticks, lip glosses, lip balms and nail polishes, which are available online and at many locations of Whole Foods, Henri Bendel and Nordstrom.

My one complaint: That they don’t sell more product types. I’m out of mascara.
