Terra Plana ‘Grass’: Hot or Not?

Spring is around the corner and my old flats are falling apart. (They’ve lasted a good three or four years… it was due!) I’d rather own a small and carefully-chosen selection of shoes than lots of pairs I don’t wear much, so I’m thinking way too much about this decision — and add to it that the socially-friendly world of non-athletic shoes is, to put it nicely, “lacking.”

I’ve had my eye on this flat, the Terra Plana Grass, since last season. (When Zappos carried it — now they’re only available through the TP site, where shipping to and from isn’t free!) I really wish I could try it on first, and see its true shade of “red,” but I’m about to order anyway… unless you have any better ideas for me!

My criteria: Flat or almost-flat; classy enough for work; neutral enough to go with most things yet not too boring; ethically made; quality that will last a while.

What do you say? Hot or not? And if not, any good alternatives?

UPDATE: Check out the verdict several weeks later!

  • I say hot. they would suit you.

    so did you get them?

  • I’m a little late on this comment, but I’m a big fan of flats, and I’m always on the lookout for cute ones. I’d have to see these on, though, because of that part in the back- it looks a little odd free-standing. Also the color seems more like pink. Let me know if it works out!

  • So, do these shoes create “Stinky Flats Syndrome” just like the cheap payless flats? Or are they somehow resistant to sweaty, smelly feet?
