The listing for this ring set reads, “Hey Mom and Dad, remember that time I got married really young? Sorry about that. I can’t pay you back for the wedding, but I’ll split whatever I get for these with you. Deal?” The website is ExBoyfriendJewelry.com, a pretty self-explanatory name — users sell unwanted gifts from their exes. In business since January, the site has been a major online community success story. More than 15,000 users have responded to the survey question of how they’d describe their ex-boyfriend (The winner is “A complete waste of oxygen,” at 40.3%), and more than 1,800 listings tell relatable stories like the one above. The Rings category is by far the most populated, at 936 listings, followed by Necklaces and then my favorite: Gifts That Should Have Been Jewelry. Illy espresso cups or a YSL (RIP) shoulder bag, anyone? Help a sister out!

  • this is great. it’s too bad they probably don’t post things like ipod covers, old textbooks, or pajama pants…what can I say, my exes have never bought me things like gucci bags, bummer.

  • Wow, kind of a depressing website when you start reading all the stories…
