Upper-trend-echelon: Pirate boots
Vintage pirate boots are so far beyond being “trendy” right now that I almost hesitated the headline. I meant to write about these babies months ago, and though it’s now hot and summery, they aren’t any less hot than they were in winter and spring. Nevermind the clammy calves; these are worth it. Just look at them with that flowery summer dress!
I am intentionally not posting any specific links here on where to buy, because it’s even easier than that. Go to eBay, search “pirate riding boots” (or some iteration of that, depending on the seller du jour’s item title) and your size, and voila, discover your own fantastic boots. This summer they’re gorgeous with short shorts or jumpers, and you can imagine how fab they’ll look with jeans come fall. (I almost snagged a pair of green smooth leather ones a few months ago from someone in Poland, but I miscalculated on the end time of the auction. I’ll admit that I haven’t had the best luck finding another pair as good as those in a 7.5, but I’m being patient.)
