Closed for the Holidays?

Friends. What just happened? It’s the day after Christmas, I hardly blogged all month, and I took a four-hour nap today to relieve nausea and a headache as a result of holiday-prep exhaustion. As much as I’d planned for my handmade gifts to keep me above the fray, they sucked me under! This holiday season took me OUT.

But — I think it was worth it. (For this year, at least.) The gifts really were lovely! And I learned many lessons about me and Christmas, which I plan to write down at some point (and hopefully share with you) for future reference. (Namely, don’t stay up until 4 a.m. every night the week before Christmas.) I’ll definitely do things differently next year. If you have any tips or fabulous experiences, do tell.

So you’re asking — what did I even make? Many pictures coming soon, I promise. (I couldn’t blog them in advance because my recipients read my blog. Thank you, lovely friends and fam who read!)

Now. I can’t tell you how excited I am to dive into an immensely productive January. Got a new MacBook for Christmas and loads of exciting plans. I just read a fantastic article about the silver lining to the current times, Recession and Innovation, by Julia at Worldchanging – there’s much to be optimistic about.

I’ll be out of town through the 30th, and then New Year’s. After that –

It will be good to be back in business.
