Interesting comparison! Guess I have to be more careful of what I wear now, too... I finally read the book over the summer; it's an absolute must-read for anyone who cares about their health or the health of our environment. Pollan's definition of the "supply chain" can easily be applied to the cosmetics industry as well, which is alarming because cosmetics aren't regulated nearly as closely as the food industry! I hope you enjoy the rest of the book-- it's a real eye-opener.
